Purpose / Mission of Future Teachers of America
To learn more about careers in the human services field (teaching, social work, counseling, pediatrics, etc.). Students do NOT have to be a "future teacher" to be a part of this group.
Requirements to be an ACTIVE member
FTA members attend meetings, do activities, and listen to guest speakers throughout the year, taking an active role in discussions and sharing what they have learned through their various experiences. The club usually takes a field trip each year (college visit, county agency, etc.) to learn about human services fields and/or job shadows at the Elem/MS. The FTA also participates in activities for Teacher Appreciation Week. Members are expected to engage in all meetings (even if attending Tri Star) and all group activities.
